Baby Unit.

Our baby unit is registered for 6 babies aged 0-18months. We work on a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children. All our staff are fully qualified and have full CRB checks as well as having training and expeirence in working with children under the age of 3. 

We aim to follow your child’s home routine for feeding and sleeping, to ensure that separation from you and your child is made with as much ease as possible. The nursery operates a settling in period, where you and your child can come into the nursery and play and chat with the staff about your needs and wants. This settling in period is flexible to your needs.We provide sensitive care, which responds to the child’s growing understanding and emotional needs, therefore helping to build secure relationships with their key persons. We provide regular, though flexible routines to help the children to gain a sense of order in the world and anticipate events. Children are given new experiences according to their individual needs. Encouraging learning through their senses, as well as providing a stimulating and challenging environment in a homely, caring atmosphere.  

Toddler Unit 

Our toddler unit is registered for 6 children aged between 18 months and 2 and a half years. We work on a ratio of 1 adult to every 3 children. All our nursery practitioners are fully qualified and trained in the development of children under 3 years and have been CRB cleared.

The environment is relaxed and homely, with a routine which is flexible according to the individual child’s ability and needs. We take into account your child’s routine within the home and ensure that this is closely followed according to carer’s wishes. We aim to provide a safe and interesting environment, with age appropriate resources, which help to develop children’s curiosity, co-ordination and physical abilities. This is a time when children can start the beginnings of self-control and how to relate to other people. We aim to encourage your child’s communication skills and help them to express their needs and feelings. We provide play activities that involve exploration and encourage problem solving through imaginative and creative interaction. The room also caters for those children over the age of 2, providing them with access to creative play materials and different areas of play with a variety of resources available to them. . 

Nursery Unit

Our nursery unit is registered for 8 children aged between 2 and 3 years. We work on a ratio of 1 adult to every 4 children. All our nursery  practitioners are fully qualified and trained in the development of children under 3 years and have been CRB cleared.

The nursery is relaxed and provides opportunities for free play and stimulating activities. There is also easy access to the outdoor play area. The nursery unit has a flexible routine to adapting to children’s individual needs and abilities.

We understand the complex relationship between child development and how children learn and plan to provide appropriate, realistic experiences that build on children’s interests. Practitioners extend and develop children’s language and communication in their play through sensitive observations and appropriate intervention. We aim to provide flexible resources that can be used in many different ways to facilitate children’s play and exploration.

Pre-School Unit

Our Pre-school unit caters for 16 children aged between 3 years and starting school. We work on a ratio of 1 adult to every 8 children. All our nursery practitioners are fully qualified and trained in the Early Years Foundation Stage and have been CRB cleared.Children participate in a range of activities, which take due account of their interests and achievements and their developing physical, intellectual, emotional and social abilities.The children learn through play. Play is a spontaneous, self- initiated activity that occurs simply for the pleasure of it, and because it has real value for the child, but is important for you to understand that play is also a process through which significant learning occurs. 

The major goal of our quality educare programme is to support the growth and development of the children. When you give children the opportunity to play in a secure and caring environment you will be contributing to their overall development. Learning is a natural process for children if the environment allows it to take place. Our aim is to enable children to plan and undertake more challenging activities with a wide range of materials. We also encourage children to develop a greater understanding of cause and effect by introducing a variety of equipment, media and technologies.
